Do you ever find yourself thinking about the things you have to do tomorrow? And the day after... and the day after, and maybe even the week after that? There might be a few things that need to be done here, then suddenly another few there, and then don't forget that thing you've got next week, and then of course that thing in two weeks... and oh and remember there's that other thing next month, so you better start thinking about that too!! Shivers... Now, even though that sounded totally over the top, we actually do that!!! Well I do anyway! So... lately I have been trying to reign in those thoughts that try and lead me off into a world of "how's that going to work out?" and "excuse me, what's going to happen there?" and instead just stop... relax... and actually enjoy the moment I am in. :)
Look at the birds of the air...
They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns,
For your heavenly Father feeds them...
And aren't you far more valuable than they are?
Can all of your worries add a single moment to your life?
Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow.
They don't work or make their clothing,
Yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
And if God cares so wonderfully for the wildflowers that are here today
and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.

Do you need grace today? He's got it for you. Do you need strength today? He's ready to help. Whatever comes your way today, He's already seen it and He's got a solution for it. Let's stop worrying about tomorrow, or next week or next month. God is a day by day God, providing just what we need in the moment we need it. :) So take a moment right now. Breathe in His Presence. Receive His rest. And listen for His still, small voice...
Today's grace is for today. Tomorrow we get a whole new batch! So let's stop being overwhelmed at the climb that still might be in front of us. Today we must stop... we must turn around, and see how far we have actually come.
His grace has gone before you today, so be encouraged! You are not walking alone. God is right there by your side as you are reading these very words. So let's receive His grace, walk in His peace, and consciously enjoy every moment of this precious day. This is the only Wednesday 13th of November 2013 we'll ever get so we'd better make it a good one hey. ;)
