Just jump in.

It really seems like this is a season where each day there is a new opportunity for our faith to be tested doesn't it? It's like, you conquer something, then you find yourself in another situation where you've got to make another choice.. do I stay on the edge? Or jump in..
We've all done it as kids, jumped into the pool or the beach from a ledge or a cliff top. Take a moment to remember that feeling. Standing on that ledge with all the other kids, looking around you nervously, wanting someone to go before you. Then you look down at the kids in the water, laughing and having the best time. Then.. something comes over you, it overrides the fear.. and bam. You do it. You jump. And all of a sudden you're in the water, laughing your head off and swimming towards the shore to climb back up and do it all over again.
What ledge are you standing on? What area do you need extra faith in at the moment? What are the dreams in your heart calling you to fly? Whatever it may be that you need faith for.. God promises us we don't need much to be able to jump. :)

It's time to stir up the courage within us. Because as we step out in faith and jump-in-the-deep-end, (rather than staying in the shallows where it's safe and our hair won't get wet) we swim in new waters, unfamiliar waters, exciting waters, and by doing this we are actually sowing seeds and paving the way for others to jump in after us.

I find that whenever I'm on a ledge, stirring my faith to jump, I usually forget to look around me, at the view. And there's always a view. We must remember to celebrate just how far we've come. We must pat ourselves on the back and look at how high we've already climbed.

And as we look around us at this marvellous view and recognise the heights we've reached, courage comes.. and we jump again.
There is no need to fear. I don't know about you but I find sometimes I can be fearful of a situation before it even happens! Do you know what I mean? It might be something you are a little nervous about, then all of a sudden it turns into this huuuuuuuge big drama played out (complete with actors and a director) in your mind and before you know it you have completely freaked yourself out! But, I find I am getting better at recognising the early signs now and squashing fear with faith! So let us all take hold of our faith and our peace.. and when we do, look at what happens.. yay :) So much fun.

We have a wonderful God who loves us and cares for us. He is cheering us on right this very moment. He's has our needs in mind, every single one of them, and He is working all things together for our good. He has everything sorted.

So.. now we can relax and just jump in. :)

Happy Thursday guys..
